| Bio: | As of February 2008 this LJ is friends only. I really have no time and no inclination to deal with stupid people who don't pay attention to the below mentioned reading and writing of slash and have the nerve to complain to me about it. I will post finished and (hopefully) beta-read stories on Wraithbait for those who are interested in the stories but don't want to bother reading through my meanderings about life in general ;) If you want to friend me, feel free. I most probably will friend you back, but I'm not always able to check my journal on a daily basis so it could take a couple of days before I add you to my f-list. A bit about me: I've been in fandom for a long time and I read and write slash fanfiction. I started out with the classics -- aka K/S and The Professionals -- and I still enjoy the older shows and fandoms as much as the new stuff. My 'main squeeze' at the moment is Stargate Atlantis, which I prefer to SG-1. Bookwise, I like to read almost anything from crime to fantasy to sci-fi. I also like to go to the movies with my friends and in general have fun with friendly, open minded people. Some of my favorite authors are Andre Norton, Suyata Massey and Marion Zimmer Bradley, and of course I love the Harry Potter books (well, except for the last one). Music, well, same applies, almost anything that takes my fancy, but at the moment mostly rock/hard-rock and soundtracks, a lot of Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler and Live, because it inspires me when I’m writing. I just found a few songs from The Rasmus that’ll definitely will end up on my playlist. Movies, oh my, everything from really horribly done FX to sophisticated, as long as the movie contains something that catches my fancy. I've always had a soft spot for the animated monster animals and have been known to watch the occasional old Godzilla movie with my SOs best friend who shares my love for bad movies and Asian cinema. I share my workroom with two striped squirrels who are mad for strawberries and grapes. If I feel tense and need to relax and the weather isn't ideal to go walking or running, I like to knit for relaxation. Socks, lots and lots of 'em. (I ran out of closet space for scarves and hats and I love hand-knit socks. They keep my feet nice and toasty while sitting up writing at my desk 'till early in the morning). Knitting socks also has the benefit of being easy to do while watching TV. Recently I bought a nice book about knitted folk shawls - went on a yarn shopping spree that made my beloved roll his eyes like a spooked horse because ‘why is there yarn in my tobacco drawer’ *beg* - and started to work on my favorite designs, while he smoked a pipe to calm his nerves, the poor dear. I don’t smoke, but I like the smell of pipe-tobacco, much nicer than cigarette smoke in my opinion, and he doesn’t smoke all that often. I love gardening, herbs of any kind, and old roses. I like to mix my own teas and enjoy watching things grow and change with the seasons. Although I am not gay myself, I have friends who are, and I take offense when people try to preach to me about religion telling us that this is wrong and that those ‘sinners’ will burn in hell and so forth. If you are such a person, or if you are under the age of consent in the country you live in, you should go somewhere else, because this journal will contain a lot of things -- mostly stories or mention of same -- that deal with same sex relationships. If you don't like it, go somewhere else. That said, I always enjoy meeting people who have a sense of humor and share at least some of my likes or dislikes...or want to talk, share stories or pictures of my favorite fandom. | |||||||||
